Business Traveler Innovation Awards

  

 

The Wall Street Journal and the Global Business Travel Association will once again deliver the Business Traveler Innovation Awards at the 2011 GBTA Convention. A panel of industry judges will review submissions and honor travel industry professionals who have developed innovative business practices and/or consumer products. 

 

Several of the top submissions will be featured at the Convention. A panel of industry judges will hear presentations from featured innovators. The judges will determine GBTA’s 2011 Judges’ Choice Innovation of the Year. Both awards will be featured at Tuesday’s general session.

Congratulations to the Winners 

The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) and The Wall Street Journal have announced winners of the second annual Business Traveler Innovation Awards. Corporate travelers nominated services, products and ideas that help to make business trips easier and more productive. Submissions were categorized, and the public voted for their favorites. The winner of the People's Choice Award, presented to the innovation that received the highest number of votes, and winners in each of the categories are as follows:

The People’s Choice Award is given to the innovation that garners the most votes. This year's People's Choice will be presented to Hertz for their innovation, NeverLost Gen5. This product provides concierge-assisted routing services and pushes customized “trips on demand” directly into the navigation device in travelers’ rental cars.



 

Innovation Award #1: Sustainable Practice
Outstanding and original environmental efforts in the travel industry.


Winner: Hertz
Innovation:Hertz On Demand

Hertz On Demand is a car-sharing service offering hybrid, electric and traditional vehicles for short-term (hourly, daily, one-way rentals globally) all of which are SmartWay certified.

ExpertFlyer Seat Alerts notifies you when there is a desirable free seat on your flight, such as an aisle or window seat, when you are stuck in a middle seat.

Innovation and excellence in customizing the business travel experience for the individual.

Innovation: In-airport tool/guide
