Submit Your Chapter’s 2012 Board Roster Now

Chapters that have already elected 2012 boards may turn in their rosters now so new leaders can begin receiving important chapter communications. Board rosters MUST be submitted using the chapter board roster EXCEL template and emailed to lgardner@gbta.org.

Remember, chapters must annually submit their new board roster by January 31, 2012.

Chapter Fiscal Year – Adopt, Change, or Retain a Tax Year

Do you know your chapter’s fiscal year? It’s important to know your chapter’s fiscal operating year filed with the IRS. This affects when vital documents must be received by the IRS in order for your chapter to maintain its tax-exempt status.

 

In most cases, chapters believe they operate under the same fiscal year as GBTA (calendar year); however this may not be. If your chapter is looking to adopt, change, or retain its fiscal tax year it must complete IRS FORM 1128. It is suggested to also attach a copy of your chapter bylaws, or some other documentation that notes your chapter's fiscal year-end. Learn more.
