Global Travel Professional™ (GTP) Overview
The GBTA Academy is proud to introduce the first certification in the business travel industry - the Global Travel Professional (GTP). The GTP Certification is designed to raise industry standards, enhance work performance, and recognize individuals who demonstrate core competencies essential to the business travel management discipline. The first GTP examination will be administered prior to the 2012 GBTA Convention in Boston on July 22, 2012.
The examination will consist of 125 multiple choice questions written by industry subject matter experts. The questions will be based on the results of an industry job survey of knowledge and skills needed for the business travel professional. The results of the survey will serve as a test outline. Specifically, the test outline will list subject matter domains, tasks, and the knowledge needed for a business travel professional. The Test Content Outline consists of four domains that identify the major knowledge base areas included in the examination. The numbers and percentages listed beside each domain indicate the percent of questions devoted to each area. This information is available for download under the Certification Tools below.

How to Register for the GTP Examination
Use this link if you currently hold a CCTE, SMMC, CGTE and/or GLP designation in order to receive your complimentary registration. Complimentary registration will also be extended to anyone who has attended a 2012 Manager-Level course through the GBTA Academy.
If you do not currently hold at least one of the designations listed above or you have not attended a 2012 Manager-Level course, click here to register.
Once you’ve registered, you will be required to fill out the following Verification Form. Your registration is not complete until the form is submitted to GBTA Academy.
