GBTA Applauds TSA Pre✓™ Expansion to Include Air Canada, First International Carrier, in Expedited Screening Program 

Alexandria, VA (April 29, 2014) – The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the voice of the global business travel industry, applauds the announcement by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today expanding its expedited screening program, TSA Pre✓™, to include eligible customers of Air Canada, making it the first international carrier to participate. Travelers flying out of the U.S. on Air Canada airlines will now have the opportunity to receive TSA Pre✓™.

 

“Today’s announcement marks another milestone for TSA Pre✓™ as TSA adds Air Canada, its first international carrier, to the TSA Pre✓™ program,” said Nancy Tudorache, director of operations for GBTA Canada. “Business travel drives business growth and this is another improvement to the facilitation of international business travel. TSA is to be commended for its consistent efforts to reduce unnecessary travel hassles while ensuring aviation security.”


TSA Pre✓™ is an expedited screening program that allows pre-approved airline travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and their 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bag in a carry-on in select screening lanes at U.S. domestic airports. TSA Pre✓™ operations are available at more than 115 airports nationwide, with more than 40 of those locations offering expedited screening to Air Canada customers.
