GBTA Honors tripBAM with GBTA Spotlight on Transformation Recognition

Alexandria, VA (November 14, 2013) – The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) – the voice of the global business travel industry – recognized tripBAM with its GBTA Spotlight on Transformation sponsored by Concur (NASDAQ: CNQR) at the GBTA Procurement Symposium 2013 in Atlanta, Ga. The Spotlight program focuses on the future thought leaders of business travel management and highlights successful innovators that allow the travel manager and the corporate traveler to elevate the business of travel.
“An ever-evolving profession, business travel sits at the very forefront of our global economy,” said Michael W. McCormick, GBTA executive director and COO. “We are pleased to honor tripBAM for their efforts to take chances and innovate, empowering the business travel community to adapt and understand what is necessary to thrive in today's rapidly changing business environment.”
Recognizing the difficulty companies face trying to reduce their costs on overall hotel spend while hotels are raising rates and travelers often book direct, tripBAM created a transformational solution to change the way a traveler shops for and buys a hotel. Their system not only supports corporate negotiated rates but allows a traveler to shop across a ‘cluster’ of hotels to find the best rate in the market between the time of booking and departure. tripBAM consistently finds savings of more $100 on more than 80 percent of the hotel bookings and provides an average corporate savings of 25 percent of their overall hotel  spend.
“Travelers and agencies are amazed at how well the system works and always surprised at the savings” said Steve Reynolds, president of tripBAM. “By taking a completely different approach, we provide travelers hotel rate assurance and savings while increasing transparency and rate flexibility. The opposite of what travelers find at the larger online travel sites.”
“Lodging accounted for the highest percentage of total company spend around the world last year making it more important than ever for companies to ensure they find the best possible deals to reduce overall travel costs,” said Robson Grieve, executive vice president at Concur. “Innovative tools like tripBAM are part of a significant and growing trend across the travel industry today empowering travelers to make better decisions, which in turn help companies improve the bottom line.”
Throughout the year, the GBTA Spotlight on Transformation stories will appear in a webinar series and will be highlighted with a Spotlight column issued several times in the Global Business Travel® magazine. The program and the stories are also showcased prominently at various GBTA events. More information on the GBTA Spotlight on Transformation recognition program can be found at
