The 5th Annual Chapter Challenge is On!
GBTA is challenging it 40 Chapters to engage their elected officials.
The Chapter Challenge runs Convention to Convention (August 16, 2010 through August 12, 2011). Chapters meeting these tasks will be recognized as Chapter Challenge Partners:

Invite an elected official to speak at a chapter meeting or host an GBTA Government relations focused meeting

Chapter sends a letter to their Representative or Senator endorsing an GBTA endorsed bill or vote

Request a meeting with an elected official in your state (NEW!)

Chapter appoints a liaison to the GBTA Govt. Relations Dept.

Raise $1,000 in PAC contributions regardless of Chapter size, must have 30% of members contribute
Chapter Challenge Winners
Chapters are divided into three groups based on membership. The Chapter in each division that raises the most money above the $1,000 level will be the winner.
Winners will have a reserved table for all 2011 GBTA Convention General Sessions

Noteworthy Items

Arizona BTA had the highest average of PAC money raised per member - $40.00. The chapter had a table reserved at the GBTA International Convention & Exposition 2011 General Sessions.

Texas BTA raised close to $4,500.00 in PAC contributions
Since the Challenges inception in 2007, only four Chapters have met the “partner” criteria each year
