What is the Sucessful Practice Center Program?
The GBTA Chapter Successful Practice Center program helps chapters improve through sharing and finding easy-to-use ideas, resources, and practices. It’s GBTA’s pleasure to provide this “one stop” center where chapters may share their successful practices with others.

MEMBERSHIP SUBMISSIONS
CHICAGO BTA: New Member Welcome Letter 2011
Chicago BTA's membership committee works together to ensure that welcome communications are delivered to each new member. The chapter sets aside $300 per year for new member gifts. Welcome emails and letters are both needed to help solidify new members at first communication; confirming their value to the association.

OHIO VALLEY BTA: Member Growth & Retention: Key Strategies for Success 2011
Over the past two (2) years Ohio Valley BTA has grown its active member base from roughly 84 members in 2009 to 185 members in 2011. This growth in member count resulted from several key initiatives employed by their membership committee which included 1) Communicating more with prospective members and doing so consistently throughout the year; 2) Effectively demonstrating the value of membership; 3) Strategically pricing their meeting fees to promote membership; and 4) Efficiently managing the member renewal process. ROCKY MOUNTAIN BTA: Building Relationship & Partnerships Across Colorado 2011
Rocky Mountain BTA built relationships with Colorado Government, Colorado Tourism Office, Visit Denver, GBTA PR, and other Associations affiliated with travel and meeting planners. They're continuing and developing long term relationships to help spread the word of mouth about RMBTA and combine efforts to grow RMBTA and become a leading association. Read full submission.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUBMISSIONS
SILICON VALLEY BTA: Elevating Member Program Development 2011
Given member feedback on past programs, Silicon Valley BTA noticed a desire from its member to learn more current events that will improve their job and overall career. An event was held at an Allied member's hotel, which was one of the event sponsors, and kept costs to $13,000 for catering and AV only. Read full submission.

CHICAGO BTA: Sponsorships Selection of Nonprofit Organizations Benefiting Chicago Residents 2011
Chicago BTA's goal was to deepen their community social responsibility and contribute and partner with a nonprofit organization benefiting the residents of Chicago - to help make a difference in that organization’s goals through our sponsorship of contributions and time. Thirty organizations were submitted and researched by CBTA members early in 2011. Candidates were evaluated how they met CBTA mission and vision. Read full submission.
