Essentials of Leadership

July 21-22, 2012 | Boston, MA
GBTA Convention

Academic Director:  Todd Hendshaw, Ph.D
Competency: Leadership

Leader Level

Leaders inspire, build capacity in others, lead change, and motivate employees to do more than they thought possible.  Essentials of Leadership will challenge participant’s current thinking regarding leadership and change, and provide new capacities, skills and behaviors to lead in a dynamic, complex, and ambiguous global business environment. Build confidence and courage to experiment with new leadership approaches upon participant’s return to work.

In this session, participants will understand that leadership is an identity rather than merely a position or role. Participants will better be able to appreciate their own evolving perspective on leadership, and be able to see leadership and leading change from both organizational and personal perspectives.

This session will discuss how visionary leaders inspire people to connect to the organization’s purpose, and understand where their particular contributions fit into the vision. Participants will examine their own decisional styles, learn and practice a decision making process that better reflects the complexity of their current leadership situations, and emphasizes inclusiveness and adaptation
