 A new research study conducted by American Express Global Business Travel and the GBTA Foundation, Return on Investment Refresh: Travel as a Competitive Advantage, benchmarks the travel spending businesses require to help support their growth. It further explores the change in this suggested optimal spending level depending on the economic conditions and business characteristics, including industry. The study suggests that travel can be an overlooked means to gain competitive advantage, and those companies that regard travel expenditures as indirect costs to be minimized cut into a key established expansion driver.

Lufthansa German Airlines Partners with GBTA Foundation to Deliver Executive Education
 Lufthansa has entered into a multi-year partnership to support the GBTA Foundation by offering Global Leadership Professional program (GLP) scholarships to eligible GBTA members. The GLP program is the only course offered to travel management professionals at the master's level. With the support from Foundation partners like Lufthansa, travel professionals can participate in the GLP program at a fraction of the cost of similar, top-tier management programs with the assistance of scholarships throughout the year.
