Travel is a complex function that is constantly evolving. For over 40 years, GBTA has worked to keep travel professionals informed and up to date on the trends effecting how business’s travel. The Government Travel Group (GTG), a division of GBTA, has been created in order to meet the needs of the government travel professional.

GTG works to help government travel professionals navigate the government travel landscape.
Mission
GTG meets the needs of government travel professionals by fostering an environment where education forms the cornerstone of understanding and advancement, and facilitation of information and communication is encouraged.
Goals and Objectives
GTG is aimed at becoming the leading professional association for government travel managers and those who work in the government travel industry to increase overall knowledge and expertise in this travel sector. GTG will do this by:
- Facilitating an environment that allows for sharing of information effecting government travel programs.
- Promote the education of members and government travel professionals.
- Provide support to those managing travel programs in government agencies by providing information via GTG SmartBrief, ListServ discussions and online databases designed specifically for GTG members.
- Promote networking opportunities for members at both the national and regional level.
- Facilitate regional meetings that bring together members to discuss issues effecting their travel programs at both the local, state, and federal levels.
