President's Letter

We enjoyed another strong turnout for our
February meeting at the Georgian Terrace.
One of my main goals for 2008 is to
deliver quality venues and speakers
for our members. I hope you found Jay
Campbell's interview with Danny Hood
informative and timely as they provided
insight on many topics of concern in
our industry.
February was designated as "Direct Month"
which saw many guests and potential
new direct members in attendance. Hopefully
they realized the value and opportunities
our organization brings and they join
GBTA.
I'd
like to thank The Georgian Terrace and National Car Rental for providing accommodations and transportation
for our speakers. We also accepted our
first sponsorship for 2008, a $1,000.00
platinum sponsorship from Travelport.
The deadline for submitting an application
for our first quarter scholarship is
March 14. The application can be found
on our website. Please take advantage
of this wonderful opportunity.
Due to a scheduling conflict we have changed
our guest speaker for the March 4th luncheon meeting. Fred Fischer, Senior
Vice President of FLO Registered Traveler
will provide the latest information
on the Registered Traveler program which
is scheduled to be introduced at Hartsfield
International Airport in the very near
future. This is a meeting you don't
want to miss.
We will be offering a CCTE education day
in May. Vikki Siemen is in the process
of putting together the program. Details
will be available soon.
See you on March 4th at Villa
Christina.
Sincerely
George Dunwoody
GBTA President 2008
