GBTA Convention 2019 Coming to Chicago

Convention Registration is Officially Open

Alexandria, VA (December 20, 2018) – The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the voice of the global business travel industry, is pleased to announce the launch of registration for GBTA Convention 2019. Next year’s Convention, the largest, most comprehensive annual gathering of business travel and meetings managers, meeting planners, procurement professionals and suppliers in the world will be held in Chicago, August 3-7, 2019.

In today’s constantly evolving business travel industry, business travelers are demanding mobility in a fast-paced environment, expressing a desire for a more personalized travel experience, and dealing with the risks associated with the current technological, environmental and geopolitical landscape – all leading to new hurdles and opportunities for today’s travel professionals. GBTA Convention 2019 marks the 51st edition of The Business Travel Event of the Year®. For more than 50 years now, GBTA has provided a platform for managed travel professionals to share new practices, policies and solutions to the industry’s greatest issues.

Held at Chicago’s McCormick Place, the largest Convention Center in North America, GBTA Convention 2019 will bring together nearly 7,000 business travel professionals from more than 50 countries across the globe. It will feature world-class keynote speakers, more than 175 industry-leading education sessions, the largest business travel expo floor with 400+ exhibiting companies, a wide selection of professional development opportunities and much more, providing attendees the opportunity to enhance their careers and to get business done.

The call for education session proposals for 2019 remains open until February 1, 2019. GBTA is seeking industry professionals to contribute new ideas, solutions and innovations for current issues and challenges that confront the travel industry.

Coming to GBTA Convention this year is WINiT Summit 2019 – Chicago – this one-day event on Saturday, August 3, will bring together professionals of all levels for the sole purpose of positively changing the careers and lives of women in travel-related industries. Save $100 when you register for both GBTA Convention 2019 and WINiT Summit.

The GBTA Awareness 5K Run/Walk is back for its second year. Help GBTA fight human trafficking by participating in this casual 5K race on Sunday, August 4.

The Corporate Travel Team Program is also back once again this year. First introduced in 2015, the program is designed to help companies bring more members of your global travel buyer team to GBTA Convention. Participating organizations will receive unlimited complimentary buyer registrations after purchasing four paid registrations. Attendees must be active, direct members of GBTA to qualify.

Media registration is complimentary and available online. Media who attended GBTA Convention 2018 will receive an email in January with an individual link to register for next year’s Convention, allowing you to skip the qualification process. GBTA’s fifth annual Media Day on August 4, 2019, will feature back-to-back news announcements throughout the morning from top travel companies around the world, giving media an exclusive pass to the latest travel industry news.
