WINiT Announces 2019 Gala Featuring Inaugural WINiT Awards
Awards to Honor Individuals & Companies Driving Positive Change for Women in Travel
Alexandria, VA (March 8, 2019) – WINiT by GBTA, a network driving positive change for the career mobility of women in the travel-related industries, today announced the WINiT Gala will be held at the Grand Hyatt New York in New York City on November 7. WINiT Gala 2019 will be an exclusive social event recognizing excellence in leadership in advancing women in travel-related industries.
“WINiT by GBTA is committed to driving positive change for women’s career development,” said Christle Johnson, GBTA President. “In honor of International Women’s Day today, and its efforts to forge a more gender-balanced world and celebrate women’s achievement, we are so pleased to announce the WINiT Gala where we will take a moment to applaud the achievements our industry has made, even as we strive to always do better.”
The Gala will feature the inaugural WINiT Awards acknowledging individuals and companies who have gone above and beyond in driving career mobility and gender parity.
“The goal of the inaugural WINiT Awards is to recognize the women, men and companies, who together are driving positive change for the career mobility of women in the travel-related industries,” said Dorothy Dowling, Chair of the WINiT Strategic Advisory Board. “Recognizing these success stories demonstrates the important impact that elevating women into leadership roles can have on achieving business goals.”
The 2019 WINiT Awards include three categories:
- Pinnacle Awards: Outstanding Woman of the Year, Most Innovative Trailblazer, Lifetime Achievement
- Individual Awards: Rising Female Leaders, Best Mentor or Coach – Female, Best Mentor or Coach – Male, WINiT Volunteer of the Year
- Company Achievement Awards: Creating a Company Culture for Women to Advance and Succeed, Best HR Practices Supporting All Employees in the Workplace, Promotion of a Women-related Community Service or Corporate Social Responsibility Project, Progress in Achievement Toward Equal Pay
