Fred Hutch has been defined by the Fearless Science they have done since their founding 46 years ago, from pioneering cancer treatments to leading a global vaccination effort against HIV. Emilie Seydoux, Staff Scientist in Dr. Andy McGuire’s lab, and Dr. Amitabha “Guppy” Gupta, Scientific Content Strategist for the Philanthropy department, will be joining us to provide an update on some of the most cutting-edge research conducted at the Fred Hutch. They will present some of the work being done at Fred Hutch around COVID-19 (including tracking and treating the virus and developing vaccines), as well as some new discoveries on the importance of the microbiome (the community of bacteria and viruses that live in us) and its impact on our health, including our susceptibility to cancer.
