Brought to you by the GBTA Technology Committee

Whether you provide travel services or you manage a corporate travel program, by now, you’ve very likely heard of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), set to go into effect May 25, 2018. While the GDPR is a European privacy law, it has impacts on any organization doing business in or with the EU.

Due to this extended reach and financial penalties for non-compliance, the GDPR has become a key focus area for the business travel community.
At the end of the session, participants should be able to:

  • Understand what the GDPR is and how it will impact business travel globally
  • Outline the main changes introduced by the regulation
  • Know the difference between a data processor and data controller
  • Define how they can contribute to their organizations GDPR initiatives
