Alexandria, VA (January 8, 2019) – The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the voice of the global business travel industry, announced today that Colonel Nicole Malachowski (USAF, Ret.) will serve as the closing keynote speaker for WINiT Summit 2019 – Chicago. This one-day event held in conjunction with GBTA Convention 2019 will offer first-in-class women’s leadership content and speakers. WINiT Summit 2019 – Chicago will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

“Announcing the acquisition of WINiT by GBTA was one of my proudest moments during last year’s Convention,” said GBTA President Christle Johnson. “Hosting the WINiT Summit in conjunction with GBTA Convention this year will provide women with opportunities and resources to grow their careers and will empower the next generation of women in travel.”

Keynote speaker Colonel Malachowski will share her experiences and setbacks paving a new path and culture for women in the military with event attendees. Colonel Malachowski has over 21 years of experience as an officer, leader and fighter pilot in the United States Air Force. Upon her commission into the military, she was competitively selected to fly combat aircraft and embarked on an adventure among the first group of women to fly modern fighters. She has had the honor of commanding a fighter squadron, flying as a USAF Thunderbird pilot, serving as a White House Fellow and serving as an advisor to the First Lady of the United States.
