As a proud GBTA member, I’m honoured to put my name forward for Canadian Regional Director. With over 20 years of experience in global experiential events, meetings, supplier partnerships, and business operations, I’ve built a career on connecting people and purpose — and GBTA offers a platform to do this on a national and global scale.

In my current role as Creative Solutions Project Manager of Global Experiential Events, I take great pride in aligning event strategy with policy, compliance, and procurement workflows.

My background includes managing company-wide RFPs, supporting program-wide hotel sourcing, and working alongside multiple areas within an organization, including travel departments, to drive better value, consistency, and experience. I bring a deep understanding of both the strategic and operational layers of meetings and travel, and I’m passionate about helping professionals from each side speak a shared language.

What makes me uniquely suited for this role is my ability to bridge the gap between event professionals and travel managers — translating objectives, aligning metrics, and finding common ground where collaboration thrives. I believe the future of our industry depends on this kind of cross-functional understanding, and I’m ready to help lead that charge.

If elected, I will champion:

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Building stronger communication and alignment between travel, events, and procurement professionals across Canada.
  • Supplier-Buyer Relationship Growth – Strengthening regional engagement and long-term partnerships built on transparency and shared goals.
  • Canadian Advocacy & Representation – Bringing our diverse regional insights to the forefront of GBTA’s global priorities.
  • Education & Mentorship Access – Supporting the next generation of industry professionals.
  • Build Stronger Community Connection – Encouraging coast-to-coast engagement to make GBTA Canada a vibrant, connected network of professionals.

GBTA is where relationships and strategy intersect to shape the future of business travel and meetings. I’m eager to bring my energy, experience, and collaborative mindset to our community.

Thank you for your trust,
Natasha Botbijl
