What’s missing in managed travel programs? According to 2018 GBTA research conducted in partnership with SAP Concur, one-third of travel buyers don’t know how long it would take them to confirm their employee’s safety in the event of an emergency.
Additionally, they discussed the unique safety challenges for women and LGBTQ populations that travel programs should consider. Concerns for female travelers are mainly about physical safety, such as location and lodging. However, issues for LGBTQ individuals revolve around political freedoms, particularly in communities that may not lawfully protect them. Eberhard says understanding these challenges is critical for the safety of these populations.
