GBTA Surpasses 1,000 Travel Buyers Registered for Convention

Buyer Registrations Coming in at Record-Setting Pace

Alexandria, VA (April 13, 2017) – The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the voice of the global business travel industry, today announced that more than 1,000 business travel buyers have registered for GBTA Convention 2017, marking the earliest in the event’s history that this milestone has been reached. Nearly 7,000 business travel professionals from around the globe are expected to gather in Boston this July 15-19, for the world’s largest business travel event.

“Travel buyers are the drivers of successful corporate travel programs, ensuring travelers reach their destinations in a safe and efficient manner while also working to wisely invest company dollars,” said Christle Johnson, GBTA president. “We continue to raise the bar each year at Convention with top notch speakers, education and networking. Convention energizes the travel industry by bringing together buyers and suppliers to get business done.”

With more to come, GBTA has already announced a stellar line-up of compelling speakers for this year’s event. Convention Arena will feature Gen. David H. Petraeus and USA Gold Medalist Michael Phelps. The Center Stage line-up of industry speakers will include Turkish Airlines Chairman Ilker Ayci and Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian.

Held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, GBTA Convention 2017 will bring together nearly 7,000 business travel professionals from more than 50 countries across the globe. It will feature world-class keynote speakers, more than 80 industry-leading education sessions, the largest business travel expo floor, a wide selection of professional development opportunities and much more, providing attendees the opportunity for professional development and to get business done.
