London, United Kingdom (December 15, 2016) - The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) – the voice of the global business travel industry – announced three new appointments to its European Advisory Board: Ricardo Crespo, AbbVie; Flavio Ghiringhelli, HRS; and Javier Amigo Prous, Campofrío Food Group Holding. Scott Torrey of Concur was also recently appointed to the GBTA Foundation European Advisory Board.

FRANKFURT, Germany (16 November 2016) –The Eurozone’s population and institutions may have been surprised by the outcome of the June Brexit referendum, but the economy has barely missed a beat as markets have snapped back after an initial slide, according to the GBTA BTI™ Outlook – Western Europe report, conducted by the GBTA Foundation, the education and research arm of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA). Consumers are consuming and businesses are hiring, investing and traveling for now. While spending has been somewhat resilient, measures of near-term investment intensions plunged in the third quarter of this year, suggesting coming weakness.

Four of Five Business Travellers Report Company Travel Policy Has Greatest Impact on Booking Decisions

Frankfurt, Germany (15 November 2016) – Four out of five (79 percent) business travellers report their company’s travel policy has the greatest impact on their decision when booking travel for work, ahead of convenience (71 percent) and cost (70 percent), according to a new report out today from the GBTA Foundation in partnership with HRS. Flexible change (58 percent) and cancellation (56 percent) policies are also important, and one-half say automated expense reporting (52 percent) and membership in a loyalty or rewards program (50 percent) play a large role as well.
