Over 110 GBTA members representing 26 states attended, calling on lawmakers to prohibit the use of voice calls on planes and ensure the Passenger Security Fee goes toward new technologies and trusted traveler programs rather than being diverted to pay down the deficit.

Alexandria, VA (April 13, 2017) – The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the voice of the global business travel industry, today announced that more than 1,000 business travel buyers have registered for GBTA Convention 2017, marking the earliest in the event’s history that this milestone has been reached. Nearly 7,000 business travel professionals from around the globe are expected to gather in Boston this July 15-19, for the world’s largest business travel event.

Many Business Travelers Staying at Home-Sharing Properties Unsupported By Travel Policy

Alexandria, VA (April 13, 2017) – Home-sharing properties are allowed in one out of every six travel polices (17 percent), according to a new study released today by the GBTA Foundation, the research and education arm of the Global Business Travel Association. However, more than double the number of business travelers are under the same impression (37 percent), meaning many travelers are booking and staying in properties unsupported by their travel policy – a serious duty of care issue.

Alexandria, VA (March 21, 2017) – Passengers traveling from 10 airports in eight Middle Eastern and African countries will be barred from bringing laptops and other large electronics into the cabin as carry-ons starting as early as Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security announced today.
