About the WINiT by GBTA Gala 2022 Awards

We invite your organization to submit nominations for the 2022 GBTA WINiT Awards, the top honors in the travel industry, recognizing those individuals and companies that support the career development of women. All global organizations and individuals that work in travel related industries are eligible to submit nominations.

We hope you can join us at the GBTA WINiT Gala to celebrate the industry leading work done by individuals and companies that support the WINiT mission.

Why Participate?

Align your brand with the WINiT mission; many of our founding sponsors are participating in the WINiT Gala 2022 and we’d like you to be there too!

Winners will be provided with significant opportunities for industry recognition through GBTA and WINiT by GBTA communications and by earning an accolade that can be shared with the industry on LinkedIn, in annual reports, and in general marketing and communications messaging. Winners will be recognized for their top performance in a category. Those that achieve high performance will also be recognized at the Gala event.

Award Overview

There are four award categories that contain multiple opportunities to nominate:

  • Pinnacle Awards: 
    • Outstanding Woman of the Year
    • Founders
    • Lifetime Achievement Award (selected by WINiT Leadership, not part of nomination)
  • Individual Awards: 
    • Rising Female Leader 
    • Most Innovative Trailblazer
    • Best Mentor or Coach – Female
    • Best Mentor or Coach – Male
  • Company Achievement Awards: 
    • Creating a Company Culture for Women to Advance and Succeed
  • Top 50 Women in Travel
    • The Top 50 Women in Travel will be announced prior to the event; all other award winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on October 27th

Outstanding Woman of the Year

Celebrates the most talented and impactful women in the industry

Criteria:

  • Exemplifies excellence in a travel-related industry
  • Described as a visionary who can face any challenging situations and can
  • Strategically seek solutions
  • Holds leadership positions, values volunteer work and promotes the professional advancement of women
  • Actively involved in diverse membership associations

Founders

Celebrates a male or female who embodies the mission of WINiT and supports the ongoing values of the organization.

Criteria:

  • Active member of the WINiT Community
  • Participated in two or more WINiT initiatives (i.e. mentorship program, hosted a gathering, volunteer speaker at WINiT event, participated in WINiT education program)
  • Positively contributed to the growth of WINiT and WINiT by GBTA
  • Volunteers their time to the WINiT mission

Rising Female Leaders

Celebrates young professional women who are high-performing future leaders

Criteria:

  • Represents the future of the industry
  • Drives change and identified as a thought leader
  • Holds a current position in a travel-related company or organization

Most Innovative Trailblazer

Celebrates women professionals in the technology space who are driving innovation for the business travel industry.

Criteria:

  • Seen as a technology visionary and thought leader.
  • Responsible for delivery and execution of innovative technology solution to the business travel industry.
  • Embraces change and looks outside the box for solutions.
  • Holds a current position in a travel-related company or organization

Best Mentor or Coach – Female

Celebrates a woman leader who is making a determined effort to elevate others

Criteria:

  • Demonstrates a significant and positive impact on the careers of emerging professionals in travel
  • Nurtures growth and career development
  • Acts as a champion to elevate women into new roles or to lead company efforts and initiatives
  • Supports women in their company and the industry

Best Mentor or Coach – Male

Celebrates a male leader who is making a determined effort to elevate others and champions women in travel-related industries

Criteria:

  • Demonstrates a significant and positive impact on the careers of emerging professionals in travel
  • Nurtures growth and career development
  • Acts as a champion to elevate women into new roles or to lead company efforts and initiatives
  • Supports women in their company and the industry

Creating a Company Culture for Women to Advance and Succeed

Celebrates a company or organization that has created initiatives to support the professional development and advancement of women and are actively measuring and/or reporting its success.

Criteria:

  • Structured initiatives and programs can include, but are not limited to, mentor programs, professional development plans, goals for women in leadership positions or Board seats.

Recognizing Women Leaders

Celebrates a company or organization that has created initiatives to support the professional development and advancement of women and are actively measuring and/or reporting its success.

Criteria:

  • They are reinventing, leaning in, and creating momentum that will be felt by those beyond their community and field.
  • Who are the new role models, who are driving the cultural shift towards lifetime learning and innovation?
