The primary goal of many managed travel programs is to limit cost. Recently, travel programs have paid greater attention to traveler satisfaction/well-being. In a tight labor market with low unemployment and rising salaries, an employee-centric travel program can help companies recruit and retain talent. Based on GBTA-Deem research, this session will examine the role of the user/traveler experience in managed corporate travel. How well do travel programs serve the needs of business travelers? Is traveler experience more important than other objectives such as cost savings? How do travel programs measure employee satisfaction? Do travel programs adequately accommodate employees with disabilities and special needs? What perks and policy changes do business travelers value most? Which booking technology features and innovations are travel managers and business travelers most interested in?
