GBTA Announces NASA Astronaut Captain Scott Kelly as Featured Speaker at GBTA Convention 2016

Alexandria, VA (May 24, 2016) – The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) – the voice of the global business travel industry – today announced U.S. astronaut and retired Navy Captain Scott Kelly will be a featured speaker at GBTA Convention 2016, July 16-20 in Denver, Colorado. Captain Kelly will speak at Convention Arena on Wednesday, July 20.

During his record-breaking Year-In-Space, Captain Scott Kelly captivated the world while laying the groundwork for the future of space travel and exploration. An American hero whose contribution to humanity is as far reaching as his out-of-this-world adventure, Kelly’s achievements over his illustrious 20-year career with NASA earned him the coveted position as America’s first year-round astronaut. On his historic mission that spanned from March 2015 to March 2016, Kelly and Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko conducted experiments, reconfigured station modules, and captivated the world with live interviews and never-seen-before photos from the International Space Station.

Prior to his career with NASA, Kelly served 25 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as an experienced aviator and decorated Captain.
