Relatório da TSA levanta bandeiras vermelhas para segurança e proteção dos viajantes

Alexandria, VA (June 1, 2015) – Today ABC News reported on an internal investigation of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that showed security failures at dozens of the nation’s busiest airports, where undercover investigators were able to smuggle mock explosives or banned weapons through checkpoints in 95 percent of trials. The statement below can be attributed to Michael W. McCormick, Executive Director and COO of the Global Business Travel Association:

“This report raises major red flags about whether our nation is doing enough to protect traveler safety and security through airports and other key modes of travel. TSA has an incredibly difficult and important job to do, and our leaders in Washington need to ensure that our hardworking agents have the training, tools and expertise to protect our nation.

Additionally, this report should lead to a renewed effort to protect safety and security of all travelers – whether they travel by plane, train or bus. This means improving our national infrastructure across the board to avert potential terrorist attacks, as well as taking steps to prevent rail tragedies like the one that occurred recently in Philadelphia. GBTA is committed to working closely with government leaders, operators and travelers to ensure our travel system is safe, affordable and reliable for all Americans.”
