Record Numbers of Travel Buyers Set to Attend BTTB 2017

In just a few short weeks, the inaugural btTB Conference in partnership with GBTA will kick off at the Royal Randwick in Sydney. In late 2016, GBTA announced its partnership with btTB to officially launch at the upcoming conference on 2nd and 3rd May 2017 as our organizations join forces to deliver a host of new learning, development and networking opportunities to the business travel community in Australia and New Zealand.

The business travel community is clearly embracing this partnership as a record number of travel buyers are planning to attend btTB 2017. With less than three weeks to go before the event, buyer delegate numbers are on track to be far larger than at any previous event in btTB’s 17-year history.

The event will provide travel buyers and suppliers a platform to come together to share knowledge and build valuable relationships. The conference theme is ‘Maximising Value in Your Travel Programme,’ and the education sessions have been developed around the core themes of procurement, the travel supply chain and innovation.

A number of the sessions at btTB 2017 will address some of the newer aspects of managed travel such as mobile technology and its impact on our programmes, how to navigate the sea of data usefully, what the rise of the ‘sharing economy’ means for our travel programmes and what developments in the world of Fintech and payments mean to us. The bulk of the programme will focus on the core drivers of value that a well-managed travel programme delivers for all stakeholders.

“The single most common issue for procurement that we hear from practitioners is the ongoing challenge of not only extracting value, but of communicating this value to key stakeholders” said Nigel Wardropper, Managing Director of btTB/PASA. “Whether this be in the travel category or any other category of spend, value is in the eye of the beholder. At the inaugural btTB conference in partnership with GBTA, we will explore numerous ways to extract greater value from your travel programme and how to ensure that this is recognized by key stakeholders. The conference provides an outstanding opportunity for both the buy and supply sides of the market to come together to learn with and from each other.”

The partnership between GBTA and btTB will provide corporate travel professionals with a variety of unparalleled opportunities to build their careers through education across all levels of travel management as well as through valuable networking events. Numerous initiatives will be announced during the btTB 2017 Conference to drive continuous engagement, development and networking opportunities for both buyers and suppliers throughout the year.

Registration remains open and you can find more information or view the conference programme here.
