UK Government to Fund Five SAF Production Projects

The UK government has announced £165 million of funding for projects to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) over the next few years.

The five projects, which are based across the UK, will receive money from the Advanced Fuels Fund, which is part of the government’s Jet Zero Strategy to decarbonize aviation by 2050.

The sites will have the ability to produce more than 300,000 tonnes of SAF per year once in operation, which will reduce CO2 emissions by an average of 200,000 tonnes annually. The government is aiming to have at least five commercial SAF plants under construction in the UK by 2025.

Volunteers Needed

GBTA and ITM are looking for 10 to 12 volunteers based in the US, Canada, LATAM or APAC to assist with a Global Ground Transportation RFP Task Force. This RFP is scheduled to be available for 2023, and the 2024 RFP Season.

Do you have expertise as either a buyer or a supplier in the ground transportation segment? We are looking for individuals with car rental, taxi, private transportation, shared ride services, rail, coach, OBT, TMC and any additional segments of ground transportation experience.

The project will begin late 2022 and commence in mid 2023, for an estimated 12-week period. The project will consist of a series of calls once every 2 weeks, mixed with some independent work to easily align with personal schedules for your assigned group and duties.

If you are interested in serving on the task force, please submit your application here.

If you have any additional questions, please reach out to Morgan Cook, [email protected].
