GBTA Europe Advocacy Wrap-Up for 2022

GBTA has had a very active year advocating for the interests of the business travel sector. The association has successfully reinstated its strong presence in Brussels in the post-COVID world and reinforced its ties with local stakeholders and policymakers.

In 2022, GBTA has represented the business travel sector in a total of 16 meetings including with the European Commission, Council of the European Union, and EU stakeholders including Airlines for Europe, Community of European Railway, and the Tourism Manifesto  

GBTA has moreover responded to four public consultations, published two position papers, and issues numerous press releases expressing the view of the section. Additionally, GBTA hosted its first Global Sustainability Summit in Brussels, bringing together nearly 300 delegates from around the world.

Virtual Payments Toolkit

GBTA’s Payment Solutions Committee presents the Virtual Payment Toolkit for Lodging. Items within this toolkit are a compilation of recommendations and suggestions for ways to minimize VCN usage conflicts by travelers, buyers, and suppliers - created based off stakeholder experiences with VCN. The toolkit includes: what is a virtual card number (VCN), what are players, PCI rules, best practices for TMCs, hoteliers and buyers, RFPs, and typical information contained in a VCN payment.
