What’s Your Business Travel Resolution for the Year Ahead?

Whether you love or loathe the concept of making new year’s resolutions, there is an inherent value in the premise behind it − reflecting, creating goals, establishing focus, and even just envisioning what the year ahead could bring.

Maybe your resolution is to get involved. GBTA has 20 global and regional committees where you can put your purpose and passion to work for our industry and its professionals. And advocacy is always an area where your efforts can have wide-ranging impact for our industry and travelers – at a local, national, or regional level.

Maybe this is your year for giving back. Become a part of fostering the future of our industry by participating in GBTA WINiT 1:1 Mentoring, a six-month virtual program that connects mentees from around the globe with accomplished business travel professionals for career guidance and support. (Interested mentees and mentors need to submit their applications here by January 12th.)

Or maybe this is your year for advancing your learning and professional development. We can get you on your way – from learning about our industry via the Fundamentals of Business Travel course, to embarking on your company’s sustainable travel journey via our new Sustainable Travel Management course, to earning your Certificate in Corporate Travel Execution (CCTE) or Global Travel Professional (GTP) certification, we have dozens of GBTA Academy courses in the line-up for 2024.

And when it comes to tracking the industry – which is certainly what GBTA is known for – the GBTA Business Travel Index™ Outlook forecast is that we’ll hit the $1.5 trillion rebound mark in global business travel spending this year. But we know there’s also turbulence ahead via new developments and challenges, not the least of which includes responsible climate solutions. As we’ve seen historically, it will be through our collective spirit, collaboration and efforts that the global business travel community will continue to move forward to make the industry better.

At GBTA and the GBTA Foundation, our resolution for 2024 is our ongoing purpose and promise: to bring together the many voices of our industry to shape the future of global business travel. In January 2023, our members gave GBTA its highest ratings in 9 years for membership value and satisfaction. Our focus is to be even better in 2024 through our member-centric approach and a commitment to community, learning and advocacy.

But we need you to help us shape what’s next. This is your GBTA, and we are grateful for all you do. You are the visionaries and practitioners co-creating the future of managed business travel. Dive in, lend your voice, shape policy, build community, and help us drive research that benefits our members and industry. Here’s to a productive and prosperous 2024 for all.
