Airlines Cancel Thousands More Flights as Arctic Weather Tears Through the US

Airlines were forced to cancel and delay thousands more flights Monday as a wave of winter storms blanketed more of the U.S. with heavy snow, freezing rain and sub-zero temperatures.

The tally of interrupted flights was rising by the minute on Monday afternoon, according to flight-tracking website FlightAware. As of 3:35 PM Eastern Time, more than 2,400 domestic and international flights entering U.S. airspace were canceled and over 6,000 flights were delayed.
