Charting the Course for Impact Over the Next Three Years

At GBTA, we’ve been busy charting the course for a productive and purpose-filled future for the global business travel industry. With that in mind and working with our GBTA Board of Directors, we’ve outlined guiding objectives to empower us to deliver results and impact for our members, industry and association over the coming years 2024-2026.

These objectives focus on what you’ve told us is important to you and anticipate the trends that will shape the business travel landscape ahead:

  • Defining and championing for our industry − and for those outside of it − the value and essential role of “travel for work”
  • Advocating and driving collective efforts for industry action for both People and Planet, including making meaningful progress in the crucial area of sustainability
  • Creating momentum to ensure business travel gets and keeps its strategic seat around the corporate “table,” solidifying its role in achieving success
  • Fostering innovation and helping navigate change in the industry through and for our members
  • Attracting new talent into our industry – and educating them on managed business travel practices
  • Expanding member value as well as the value to those who support GBTA financially
  • Developing as a global organization through both intra-region and cross-region collaboration as well as expanding segmentation opportunities
  • And investing in our GBTA team and needed resources to deliver on association and industry objectives

Board President Mark Cuschieri, in last week’s first Board Spotlight article of the year, further fueled our collective momentum within 2024 itself. He emphasized the power of global community and collaboration, shared the exciting news of welcoming Peter Koh and Felipe Cardona as ex-officio Board members for APAC and LATAM respectively, and announced our goal to establish fully elected, voting directors for these regions by year-end.

Are you charting your own course to drive momentum while connecting with like-minded peers? There are lots of great GBTA events coming up − plan early to make your business travel as purposeful as possible (and to take advantage of the best rates). Registration is already open for the GBTA LATAM Conference in Mexico City (April 3-4), GBTA Canada Conference (April 22-24) in Toronto, our APAC Conference in Singapore (May 14-15) and, of course, the annual GBTA Convention in Atlanta (July 22-24).

Together, let's make 2024 a year of impactful progress for business travel on the path to a longer-term, healthy outlook. We look forward to working alongside you to achieve a shared vision of success.
