Gen Z Prioritizing “Slower Travel” for Business

New research from Trainline Partner Solutions (TPS) highlights a significant shift in business travel attitudes amongst Gen Z professionals. The research shows a growing preference for ‘slower business travel’ – lower-carbon journeys that align career progression with environmental consciousness, even if they take longer.

The survey of 1,001 UK-based Gen Z professionals reveals that almost two-thirds (60%) of respondents are open to adopting slower business travel, such as rail, if it significantly reduces their carbon footprint. Three-quarters (75%) are more likely to prioritise such options if their company actively supports them with clear policies and incentives. Yet, less than half (44%) of respondents said their company currently encourages lower-carbon travel through flexible policies.
