GBTA Expands Its Presence in Asia Pacific with New Advisory Board

GBTA continues to increase its commitment to global business travel with the establishment of a new regional GBTA Advisory Board in Asia Pacific. This strategic move aims to enhance GBTA’s presence and growth by engaging valuable local guidance and expertise to best serve members and partners in the region.

“The new Board brings together many expert and diverse voices across the region. Their insights and industry experience will help GBTA be able to optimally serve the APAC region through the development of tailored programs and offerings for business travel buyers, suppliers, and companies in the region,” said Catherine Logan, GBTA Regional Senior Vice President for EMEA and APAC.

Peter Koh, Executive Director, Head of APAC Integrated Travel and Expense for Goldman Sachs, will serve as Chairperson of the 12-member GBTA APAC Advisory Board made up of cross-regional business travel leaders from top organizations.

GBTA has also appointed business travel industry veteran, Maura Geertsma, as its interim Regional Director for APAC. Reporting to Logan, Geertsma brings extensive expertise and a deep understanding of the region to support GBTA’s initiatives.

GBTA is focused on serving the unique needs and interests of APAC through a longer-term regional strategy, as well as with nearer-term initiatives such as the upcoming GBTA APAC Conference 2023.

GBTA Convention 2023
Opportunity to Sign Up for Your Global Entry Interview at GBTA Convention, Dallas, TX

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers will be at the Global Business Travel Association Convention in Dallas in August 2023, to conduct in-person enrollment interviews for CBP’s Global Entry program. Global Entry allows expedited clearance for preapproved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. Participants may enter the U.S. using automated kiosks or touchless portals located at 62 U.S. airports, and 15 preclearance sites.

Global Entry approval also allows U.S. travelers to be eligible to participate in the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Pre✓® program, which expedites screening through TSA checkpoints at participating airports.

How to Apply

To participate in the interview process at the GBTA Convention, you must follow these steps:

  • Visit the Trusted Traveler Programs website and review the available programs.
  • Step 1: Create a Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) account.
  • Here, you must first create an account and then log in to submit an application. When applying, be sure to only select the Global Entry option. A $100 nonrefundable application fee must be paid online at the time you apply.
  • Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive a message in your account notifying you of the results.
  • If you are “conditionally approved” for Global Entry, you will be invited to schedule an interview at the event.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CBP is experiencing a significant backlog of applications. In order to complete your interview at GBTA, it is recommended you submit your application as soon as possible!

Interviews will be conducted at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center Dallas.
