2025 Board of Directors Election
The GBTA Board of Directors election has begun.
The GBTA Board of Directors serves as the governing body of the Association and is responsible for establishing the focus and direction of the Association. Board Members spend time deliberating on matters and policies related to the Association’s programs and services. Their opinions and experience provide needed input into shaping the strategic goals for the organization. Volunteering on the Board is a chance for our industry’s leaders to make a long-term positive impact on our profession.
2025 Open Positions for Board of Directors:
- One (1) President (Direct Member)
- One (1) Vice President (Direct Member)
- One (1) Regional Director – Canada (Direct Member)
- One (1) Regional Director – APAC (Direct Member)
- One (1) Regional Director – LATAM (Direct Member)
- Two (2) Director-at-Large (Allied Member)
The GBTA Board of Directors states the following regarding the 2025 Election:
Your voice was heard in the 2024 Elections which allowed the LATAM and APAC board seats to become voting members, thus we are pleased to announce that the 2025 election will provide members from the APAC and LATAM regions with the opportunity to vote for candidates representing their respective regions on the GBTA Board of Directors.
This approach allows regional members to select their own candidates, ensuring that the board reflects the diverse needs of different areas, and that each region has a voice in decision-making.
All members are eligible to vote for the positions of President, Vice President, and the two Director-at-Large Allied positions. However, voting for regional candidates is restricted to members residing in specific regions. Only members living in Canada, APAC, and LATAM will be able to vote for their respective regional candidates, ensuring that regional representation aligns appropriately with the geographic areas of the candidates.
Following member approval to include LATAM and APAC as elected voting board members, and to rebalance its composition between buyers and suppliers, the board with guidance from legal counsel, voted to add one Allied At-Large while reducing one Direct Member At-Large. The change will take effect at the conclusion of convention and the Direct Member’s term in July 2025.

The present GBTA Board of Directors holds 16 members with a global representation:
- 2 Direct (buyer) Member Officers (President and Vice President)

- 4 Regional Directors (buyer) (Canada, Europe, APAC and LATAM Direct members)
