European Airlines Could Face Steep Operational Challenges in 2023

Europe’s air traffic manager, Eurocontrol, is warning of potentially “huge challenges” to the continued recovery of air travel on the continent this year. Matching capacity to demand, and keeping delays in check, will be the two biggest challenges the aviation ecosystem faces as schedules recover to roughly 92 percent of pre-Covid levels.

“2023 is set to be the most challenging year of the last decade,” Eurocontrol said in a newly published report. “Keeping summer delays down will be an immense task for all actors, with airspace issues due to the Ukraine war, extra aircraft in the system, possible industrial action, system changes, and the progressive reopening of Asian markets all asking real questions of the system.”

Volunteers Needed

GBTA and ITM are looking for 10 to 12 volunteers based in the US, Canada, LATAM or APAC to assist with a Global Ground Transportation RFP Task Force. This RFP is scheduled to be available for 2023, and the 2024 RFP Season.

Do you have expertise as either a buyer or a supplier in the ground transportation segment? We are looking for individuals with car rental, taxi, private transportation, shared ride services, rail, coach, OBT, TMC and any additional segments of ground transportation experience.

The project will consist of a series of calls once every 2 weeks, mixed with some independent work to easily align with personal schedules for your assigned group and duties.
