Celebrating 2023 Global Leadership Professional Designation Recipients

The GBTA Academy, the Professional Development arm of GBTA, awarded six recipients with the prestigious Global Leadership Professional® (GLP) Designation during the GBTA Convention 2023 in Dallas this week.

The GLP designation for 2023 was achieved by the following industry professionals:

  • Gloria Caceda, GTP, GLP, Director, Global Administration, World Fuel Services, Corp.
  • Jane Capobianco, GTP, CTE, GLP, Corporate Account Manager, Direct Travel, Inc.

  • Sarah Eury, CTE, GLP, Director, Subcontracts Services, Southwest Research Institute

The GLP program provides corporate travel professionals an opportunity to utilize the various skills, knowledge, and expertise they have gained during the GLP program, put it to practical use and then in turn share that knowledge with their peers to help better the travel industry.

The designation was created to acknowledge business travel professionals who had completed the GLP Program, received their Certificate of Professional Development, and then applied that knowledge to help further the industry through a related group project. The GLP program provides essential business knowledge in the major business disciplines of leadership, finance, marketing, and management.

The 2023 GBTA Online Booking Tool (OBT) Guideline provides an update to the Model OBT RFP with new, relevant questions. It makes provision for open-ended and closed questions relevant to an OBT supplier review. The guideline was developed by the 2023 GLP Designation program participants; designed to allow buyers to further customize and refine questions to meet the specific RFx format to meet their organizational needs. The guideline can be used by suppliers to prepare responses to anticipated RFx questions.
