Human trafficking is a global issue that affects thousands of people annually – the International Labour Organization estimates there are 40.3 million victims of human trafficking globally. Individuals in the travel industry are in a unique position of defense at the front line of human trafficking, as airlines, hotels, and ground transportation companies are often unwittingly used by human trafficking operations. While travel companies are taking steps to train airline and hotel staff on the issue, there has not been much research examining the role of the business traveler in terms of identifying and reporting potential trafficking cases. Building off of 2019 research from GBTA and AIG, this webinar explores what business travelers know about human trafficking, and how their organizations can help their travelers better protect themselves and others.

At the end of the session, participants should be able to:

  • Gauge traveler understanding of the types and signs of human trafficking

  • Understand how human trafficking concerns impact business travel

  • Benchmark what organizations are doing to combat human trafficking

  • Learn what travelers want out of their travel program regarding human trafficking
